Legal Research Analyst/Product Analyst

We are looking to add a smart and ambitious analyst to help us with our product development. In this position you will be getting in on the ground floor of a cutting-edge AI company and working with our team of developers and legal professionals to help us invent and build our award-winning products. No one has ever developed the products that we are building, so we understand that there is no “perfect” candidate for this position. If you are smart, like technology or even better have some experience with coding, and know a little bit about the law or are interested in the law, then send us your resume. We are more than happy to get the right person trained and up to speed.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE

  • Working with a lot of recovering lawyers who mostly don’t miss the practice of law but still talk about the law a little too much
  • Conducting research into how legal processes are conducted throughout the country (for those without a legal background but the right motivation we will train you as to how to use the specific legal research software)
  • Coming up with creative solutions to get the results we need from complicated data sets
  • Becoming an expert with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Drafting up requirements that convey your creative solutions to our software developers in a way that our engineers can understand
  • Not being afraid to learn new processes and technology, to try them out (and likely fail), and repeat the next day
  • Having a laid-back attitude but a strong work ethic—we are a startup so sometimes there are late nights and weekends but we try to keep it fun and want to enjoy the people we work with

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree (or a good reason for not having one)
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word – we are former lawyers and software developers, we love spreadsheets and organization
  • Very close attention to detail
  • A team player who works well with others
  • Ambitious, enthusiastic, and excited to learn
  • Strong communication skills

BONUS

  • Familiarity/background with the SDLC and software development methodologies and applications, including Agile Scrum and Jira (not required)
  • Experience/background with the legal profession is a strong plus, but not required

PERKS

  • Stock options
  • Great health insurance/vision/dental
  • Plenty of snacks/sodas and weekly lunches
